The Black Wine Route is an initiative by Moeng Winery which aims to create a new wine route in Gauteng. Through The Black Wine Route, Moeng Winery intends to bring over 15 black wineries and/or black wine brands to Gauteng for a wine experience that surpasses any other. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur looking for crate deals on superior estate wine, or simply a lover of the pressed grape in bottled form, the black wine route is guaranteed to be a fun outing that will tantalise your taste buds.
It will be a day filled with wine tasting – you will be treated to a choice of over 100 wines. There will be lots of delectable, well-priced food options to indulge in as well as live entertainment.
The Wine Route is perfect for wine connoisseurs, however, it is also for those visitors who just want to appreciate the wonderful wines that South Arica boasts. This is also a great opportunity for companies to entertain their clients or staff to well-priced Wine Tasting experiences with or without food pairing – every experience with a distinctive edge. You may enjoy wine tasting whilst trying your hand at Lady Luck at horse racing.
The initiative is aimed at creating a wine culture and introduce black wine brands to the Gauteng population. The event will feature a horse racing element, of which we will partner with the National Horse Racing Authority (NHRA). The aim is to increase the interest in both the wine industry and horse racing industry.
The event will happen on the 17th November 2018 at the Turffontein Horse Racing Course and will start from 08:00 until 18:00. Patrons, depending on the tickets purchased, will receive wine glasses with which they will be able to taste wines from all the exhibiting wineries/brands. These tickets will also allow them to enter the stadium to observe the horse racing set up for the day. There will be performances from a variety of artists and food stalls during the day.
